Several papers are cutting costs other ways, but outsourcing and offshoring may be the answer to saving even more money as their revenues are dropping.

Some papers are trying to consolidate editing and design jobs instead of moving jobs overseas. However, the argument stands that in the short run it may save costs, but quality may suffer in the long run. Of course, local editors would still have the final approval on what goes to press.
